Valiyah Husn Jahan Khanum's endowment, 1903
Copy of a document from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Nasir al-Mulk, the governor of Kirmanshah, about Jamah Shuran village in Kurdistan, which was endowed by Valiyah Husn Jahan Khanum for performing Taʻziyah and mourning ceremonies for Imam Husayn.

Shah Parvar Khanum's endowment, 1855
Shah Parvar Khanum, the daughter of the late Ra’is Amin from Qallat, endows some properties in the village of Qallat, after deducting the maintenance costs, for the benefit of Ta‘ziyah performers. She assigned Shaykh ‘Abd al-Nabi, the son of Shaykh Abu Turab, as the custodian of this endowment and determined the passage of the guardianship through generations: Shaykh ‘Abd al-Nabi should be followed by his male descendants and, in the absence of male offspring, by his female descendants, then again their male offspring and if not, their female offspring.

Mirza Muhammad Husayn Mustawfi Hiravi's endowment for his wife's soul, 1887
Aqa Mirza Muhammad Husayn Mustawfi Hiravi endowed his four shares of the Saʻdabad farm in Sarjam village for taʻziyah of Imam Husayn and prayer for the soul of the mother of Mirza Masʻud Khan. After the death of the endower who will act as guardian of the endowment, the eldest male child and their male descendants shall act as the endowment's guardians. If there are no male offspring, the eldest female child and their descendants shall act as the endowment's guardians. 22 March 1887.

Settlement between Fatimah Nisa’ and Muhammad Hashim, 1901
Settlement, dated October 29, 1901, between Fatimah Nisa’, daughter of the late Baba Khan from Khuzan, and Muhammad Hashim, son of the late Haji ‘Abd Allah, exchanging some properties in Shams Abad for forty tumans. Fatimah Nisa’ then waived all of her rights for four tumans and some wheat. On verso: on April 4, 1921, ‘Abd Allah, son of the late Muhammad Hashim, settled this property with his uncle, Haj Asad Allah, to pay the costs of ta‘ziyah for the late Muhammad Hashim.

Narjis Khatun's endowment, 1896
Copy of an endowment with the seal of the office of endowments in Zanjan; Narjis Khatun (known as Amirzadah Khanum), the daughter of Muzaffar al-Dawlah, has endowed the village of Almalu, the revenue from which is to be spent on ta‘ziyah, charity to the poor, and aid for pilgrims. Narjis Khatun herself will be the custodian while she is alive and will be succeeded by her male offspring, by female offspring in the absence of any male descendants, and, in the absence of any female offspring, by the most knowledgable of the learned men of Zanjan. Settlement of Layli with Mirza Muhammad ʻAli, 1920
Settlement between Layli, the daughter of Muhammad Vali Bayg, and Mirza Muhammad ʻAli, in which she settles all of her belongings--clothes, dishes, cash and bonds, properties, and household furnishings--for some salt and pennies in order for Mirza Muhammad ʻAli to spend 11 tumans for taʻziyah and 10 tumans for prayers [to be said for her] after her death. After payment of the religious tithe, he should spend the rest on taʻziyah for Imam Husayn.

Haj Muhammad's endowments
The first item includes four documents attached to each other: In the first one, dated June 15, 1832, Haj Muhammad, known as Haj Aqa Buzurg Sahib, the son of Fazl Allah Sultan, endows a house and five shops to Ta‘ziyah performers, assigns his children as the guardians, and names Mirza Abu Talib (who has since passed away) as the overseer. Settlement between Baygum, Mirza Muhammad, and Mashhadi Asad Allah, 1911
After Nayib Ibrahim, son of Haji Muhammad Baqir from Khuzan, died without leaving a will, there was a problem handling the related ceremonies. So, Baygum, daughter of Nayib Ibrahim, transferred ninety tumans to Mirza Muhammad, son of the late Haji ‘Abd Allah, and his son, Mashhadi Asad Allah, in exchange for one hundred dinars and some wheat. The condition was that they spend this money, with approval of Karbalayi Yad Allah, son of the late Karbalayi Husayn, for ta‘ziyah and other ceremonies.

Settlement between the daughter of Mirza ‘Arab‘ali and her older son, Haj Mirza Sayyid Husayn, over a property for thirty tumans, with the condition that Mirza Sayyid Husayn, with the supervision of his brother (Mirza Muhammad ‘Ali) and sister, pay for taʻziyah expenses after their mother’s death.
